Spectrum Call Forwarding Instructions

This is a cheat sheet for Spectrum customers looking to direct their incoming calls to an answering service. Let’s walk through the various ways you can set up call forwarding on your Spectrum phone—whether it’s general call forwarding, no answer, or when busy forwarding. With call forwarding, you will never miss an important call—and always help customers when they need it the most.

Important: You must first activate call forwarding through your online Spectrum user portal.

Activate Call Forwarding Online

  1. Go to your Spectrum user portal here and log in.
  2. Set up your account to allow call forwarding.
  3. Choose the option that best suits your needs.
  4. Save your changes.

Unconditional (Always) Call Forwarding

  1. Lift the receiver and dial *72.
  2. After the dial tone, enter the 10-digit number provided by your answering service.
  3. Wait for the confirmation announcement; the feature is now activated.

No Answer Call Forwarding

  1. Lift the receiver and press *92.
  2. Enter the 10-digit forwarding number and press the # key.
  3. Wait for the confirmation announcement.

Busy Call Forwarding

  1. Lift the receiver and press *90.
  2. Enter the 10-digit forwarding number and press the # key.
  3. Wait for the confirmation announcement.

Selective Call Forwarding

Using Your Phone

  1. Lift the receiver and press *63.
  2. Enter the 10-digit number you want to add to the list and press Dial.
  3. Wait for the confirmation.

Using the Spectrum Website

  1. Log in to your Customer User Portal on the Spectrum website.
  2. Navigate to the Calling Features tab.
  3. Scroll down to Call Forwarding Selective and select Edit.
  4. Enter the desired phone number or extension.
  5. Check the Active box to turn on call forwarding.

Note: Verify with your answering service about their capabilities and test the forwarding feature.

Turn Off Call Forwarding

Unconditional Call Forwarding

  1. Lift the receiver and enter *73.
  2. End the call; call forwarding is now turned off.

No Answer Call Forwarding

  1. Lift the receiver and enter *93.
  2. End the call; call forwarding is now turned off.

Busy Call Forwarding

  1. Lift the receiver and enter *91.
  2. End the call; call forwarding is now turned off.

Selective Call Forwarding

  1. Lift the receiver and enter *93.
  2. End the call; selective call forwarding is now turned off.

1. Do I Need Online Access to Set Up Call Forwarding?

Yes, you must first enable call forwarding through your online Spectrum account before using your phone to activate it.

2. Can I Reject Anonymous Calls?

Yes, to activate Anonymous Call Reject:

  1. Lift the receiver and dial *77.
  2. Wait for the confirmation tone.
